Society wants to misdirect you so that you never become successful. It has many distractions to prevent you from learning about yourself. Society does not want you to know how to find your life purpose. You must know four things about yourself before finding your life purpose.

The Essential Guide For How To Find Your Life Purpose

4 Steps For How You Can Find Your Life Purpose

Four steps can direct you to find your life purpose.

Your Natural Skills

You need to know your natural skills to discover what you are good at. You will continue to be frustrated. You will continue to go along to get along. You will continue trying new things to become a master of everything, yet a master of none. You can learn to master what you are best at before you can improve another skill you want to know.

While soft skills are practical, hard skills are the most vital skills to learn. Hard skills are what will make you stand out from your peers. Hard skills are what employers care the most about. Soft skills are merely the icing on the cake. Figure out what your natural skills are, then master them.

Knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is power.

Your Interests

Your interests will likely match your skills. They will likely complement each other. What are you interested in? It could be a hobby or something you do part-time on the side. Are you passionate about a specific topic, field, or area? It could be computers, carpentry, business, website design, etc. Once you discover your main interests, you can see if they relate to your skills.

You can figure out what your interests may be by trying new things. You can talk and learn from others. You can read about or watch videos on things that interest you online. You could take an online course from someone. You could get a job or internship in an area that appeals to you to see if you enjoy it.

A Problem You Care About

You will then want to use your interests and skills to solve a problem you care about. It doesn’t need to be anything significant. It could be as simple as wanting to reach people or teach them about an issue, topic, or skill.  It could be using your interests and skills to gain experience at a job to build up work experience. Once you have met these three criteria, you want to ensure that you get paid for what you are good at.

Get Paid For What You Do

When you master a skill. You never want to give away your skills for free. You want to make money for your skills.

You can work for an employer. You could be self-employed. You could become a business owner. You can learn about the ESBI Quadrant and determine which model works best. You will make the most in the business and investor models. The bottom line is that you want to get paid for your skillset.

As Joker wisely said in The Dark Knight, “If you’re good at something, never do it for free.” Heed his words. Make sure that you get paid for your skills. Never do anything for free. Villains can be excellent life mentors. I always liked villains more than heroes. Villains usually had more personality.

Life Purpose

You will have found your life purpose when you discover the bullseye where those four things meet. Once you figure out your interests, natural skills, and a problem you want to solve and can make money from, you have found your life purpose. A visual of this is in the diagram below.

Society wants to prevent people from being successful and happy. Society pressures people to do many things, from going to college to thinking they must be in romantic relationships to be satisfied while neglecting to discover these four essential things. Society wants people to focus on external validation, not internal validation. All the things that lead you to find your life purpose relate to internal validation.

Until You Find What Your Purpose Is, Focus On Yourself

It is a process to discover your skills, interests, and a problem you want to care about. In the meantime, you can do things to improve your life while continuing to learn about yourself. Here are six things you can focus on while you work to find your life purpose.

Work

You can work. This will help you to try new things while making some money. You could find an internship. You could work part-time or full-time. Working allows you to learn to interact with people in-person or online.

Today, you have a range of options when it comes to you. You could work in person, or you would work online remotely for an employer. You could also freelance using websites like Fiverr or Upwork. You can learn valuable skills while working. You will also be making money, even if it is only a tiny amount working your first few jobs. When you begin to make money, you can learn to save money.

Save Money

You can begin to save money. Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck. You can open a savings account with your bank. You can work to build an FU Fund. At a minimum, it should have $30,000 in it or whatever the amount is to cover a year’s worth of expenses in case of an emergency.

You can then learn about budgeting and investing once you have saved enough. You want to make your money to start to work for you instead of you always working for your money.

Travel

You can also travel. You don’t need to travel the world, although it can be beneficial to visit another country if you can. Otherwise, you can travel within your own country. You can even visit places in the state, city, or town you may live where you usually wouldn’t go. Travel allows you to gain valuable experiences that you may be unable to get elsewhere.

Build Relationships With People

You can build relationships with people in your community. You can make friends where you live. You can spend time with your family. People are naturally social animals. Find like-minded people with similar interests, values, and goals.

Find A Mentor

If there is something that you want to do or are just curious about, you can find a mentor who has experience in that field. This will give you more information from learning from someone firsthand to determine if it is something you enjoy. You can also find different types of mentors.

You could find a spiritual mentor. You could find a mentor who enjoys the same hobbies as you do. You could find a business mentor. A mentor should be someone you look up to, can learn from, and has more experience than you so that you can learn from them. You can learn life lessons that could save time if you heed their advice.

Trial And Error

Failure is the best teacher. If you can learn from others’ mistakes, it will save you time. However, you will learn much about yourself and what you are good at through trial and error. It is the most complicated way to learn, but sometimes that can be the best teacher.

Conclusion

These are the four ways how to identify your life purpose. You will continue to fine-tune and improve your skills throughout your lifetime. Self-education is how you continue to learn. Continue to challenge yourself and work to become the best version of yourself every day. If you enjoy what you do, it will be easier for you to do those things.
