3 Ways To Properly Use Anger

Society wrongly portrays anger as a negative feeling. It is simply another human emotion. These are three ways to properly use anger.

3 Ways To Properly Use Anger

The culture of niceness and new-age notions wants to eliminate anger. This could sometimes backfire on people who never learn to deal with anger. You can learn how to utilize your anger so that it flows through you to help you to achieve your ends.

The defensive feelings are love, joy, surprise, sadness, and fear.

[bctt tweet=”Anger is an offensive feeling. If you learn to control and direct it, you can utilize it to help you achieve your goals. Anger can give you fuel. It can give you the drive to push on.” username=”@secure_single”]

When you direct your anger inward rather than outward, it can be used to constructive ends. Anger, rage, and fury can help you to achieve your goals. There is a reason why anger is one of the six human emotions.

Anger Can Help You Identify A Problem

When you are angry and fueled with rage, you will be focused on finding ways to resolve the problem. If it is something that you have control over, then you can find a solution to it. If it is something outside of your control, then you may need to learn to move on. But if you are angry and can find a solution to the problem, your rage will push you on until you complete it. You won’t stop until you can finish it. Then your anger may begin to subside.

Anger helps to make you aware of a problem you may be dealing with. It could be finances, relationships, or healthier-related. You can then learn to properly direct your anger to start to resolve the problem that is making you angry.

Anger Can Make You Focused

You will be focused on fixing the problem that makes you angry. You will spend as much of your time as necessary to work to resolve the issue. Because you know that if you don’t solve it, you will continue to be enraged. You will continue to be fuming inside.

Rage can help to clarify things for you. Rather than being distracted by things that would usually bother you or you would waste your time doing, you choose not to give any attention to them. They distract you from your ultimate goal. The one that is making you angry. You want to remain focused until you can eliminate whatever is causing you to be pissed off all the time.

Anger As Motivation

When you are angry, you are very motivated to work to succeed. You will do what needs to be done to achieve whatever it is so you can alleviate the feeling of rage. It can be a very motivating emotion to drive you to do the things needed to achieve your goals or fix a problem that is pissing you off.

You may no longer care about ideals. You may start to become pragmatic. Sometimes you may need to start again. In that case, you must throw out everything you were taught as the right way to do things. But you won’t care. Your anger is motivating you. You will do whatever you need to do to succeed. Your rage will continue to fuel the fire until you have accomplished what must be done.

Set Your Anger Free

You can set your anger free. Your anger can help you if you allow it. It is simply a human emotion that society wrongly criticizes. Set your anger free. Release your rage. Stop allowing yourself to be bottled up inside. Use your anger. Allow your fury to help you.

Summary

Anger is often demonized as something terrible. It is just another human emotion. Appropriately directing anger can help you in ways that the other pleasant feelings never will. Anger is a powerful emotion, so popular culture does not want people to use it. Society wants people to be tamed and controllable. Anger resists and fights against the belief that you must be harmless.

Why You Always Sell Yourself Short

You have always sold yourself short. You have allowed people to use you. You have allowed people to stomp on you. You have let people use you to their ends. You have accepted the version of yourself that people tell you.

You are weak. You are worthless. You can’t have the things that you need or want in life. You have accepted the story people have told you as true. You have made it a reality.

In doing so, you have accepted your superficial friends and society’s low standards. You can be so much more. But, you continue to sell yourself short.

Why You Always Sell Yourself Short

5 Common Problem Areas

Relationships

You sell yourself short. You say to yourself that you can’t have relationships with quality people. You think you can’t date someone who is better looking or share common values. You tell yourself you can’t be friends with people you may admire. You have compromised with the people you spend time with. You have done this because it is easy.

Social Life (Real and Online)

You sell yourself short with your social life. You say to yourself that you can’t go to the places where you want to go because you don’t know the right people or you can’t afford to go to the hot new lounge.

You cannot hang around the type of people you want to spend time with because you have allowed others to control your social life. You may also have set limitations for yourself for what your social life can look like. In doing so, you have chosen to narrow your social life.

You allow your entertainment to control you. You don’t handle it. Your devices control you, and you don’t control them. You waste your time on your smartphone. You think it is all just in good fun.

Health

You sell yourself short on your health. You continue to eat processed foods. You eat junk food. You go through the drive-thru. You know you need to improve your diet, but you never have.

You know you must go on a diet, but you never have. Or, maybe you did for a few days before you quit because you lacked self-discipline.

You make excuses for why you can’t make it to the gym. You know you are overweight, but you have accepted it.

Lifestyle

You sell yourself short when it comes to your lifestyle. You don’t have the lifestyle you want because you have succumbed to limiting beliefs. Society indoctrinates people with these self-limiting beliefs from birth. You say you “can’t do this or that.”

Finances

You sell yourself short when it comes to managing your finances. You may be in debt. You may be able to save money each month for a rainy day or FU Fund. You may have a different net worth than you want. You may not invest because you don’t have enough income each month. You think you are stuck with your finances, but there are always solutions.

5 Solutions To Stop Selling Yourself Short

Relationships

You can start to develop self-confidence. Confidence is essential, and self-confidence will help you in relationships with friends, family, business, and especially romantic relationships.

[bctt tweet=”Self-confidence is attractive, and it is sexy.” username=”@secure_single”]

You can start to become more self-confident by beginning to stand up for yourself. Stop being nice to everyone. Stand your ground. Stand up for yourself. Start to tell people “no.” You are in control of your relationships. You determine the people who are in your life. You choose who your friends, business partners, and romantic interests are. No one else. You do.

Social Life (Real and Online)

Go to the places where the people you want to know to spend their time. Where do the people you want to network with and talk to spend their time? If you are into computers and technology, look at a place focusing more on technology. If you are into business, you can find networking opportunities for small business owners in your town. You may also meet the more well-heeled people at the medium to higher-end restaurants and bars where you live.

You can start limiting your time watching television, Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube Premium, et cetera. Limit how much entertainment you allow yourself to watch. You can stop having your phone next to you at all times. Leave it in a safe place. It is not going anywhere. Delete any apps that you don’t use. This will free up memory on your device while making you more productive. You will only keep the apps you need on your phone or computer.

[bctt tweet=”Turn off the television. Unsubscribe from YouTube channels. Turn off your phone. Take back your life!” username=”@secure_single”]

Health

You can start by eliminating any junk food from your diet: processed and fast foods. You can begin to follow a healthy diet. There is no perfect diet, and everyone’s body is unique and different. People follow specific diets for their reasons. Some popular diets include the carnivore, Keto, Mediterranean, Atkins, vegetarian, and vegan.

Exercise. You can go for a short walk each day. You can make a point to get outside, so you leave your apartment or house. You can go to the gym. You can start by working to lose a little weight. You can also set a goal to have a six-pack in a year. You may want to get ready for bikini season.

[bctt tweet=”No matter the reason, you will look and feel better once you pay attention to your health. You will then become more confident.” username=”@secure_single”]

Lifestyle

You may not be able to afford or live the lifestyle you want to now, but you can work to make the changes so that one day you can. You can learn the skills to help you get into the circles you want to be around. If you are entrepreneurial, you can discover ways to network with successful entrepreneurs. You may want to travel, and you can plan a solo travel trip. You can find Facebook groups to talk to people who live where you want to visit. You may want to upgrade your social class in society. You will then need to discover ways to bring in more money. Today, there are many ways to do that, from side hustles to starting an online business.

Finances

It would be best if you started by being able to follow a budget. You need to know how much money has left your bank account each month and year. There are two main budgeting strategies; you can decide which works best.

The most prevalent version is the 50/30/20 budget. Fifty percent of your income goes toward your needs, and thirty percent goes towards your wants—twenty percent you save.

The second budgeting strategy is the 60/30/10 budget. The first sixty percent goes toward paying off all your bills and necessities, which are your needs to live. The next thirty percent is divided into ten percent for each: house projects, investing, and saving. This allows you to invest a small amount of money into whatever you consider an investment.

An investment is more than just investing in the stock market. It could be in self-education. It could be in learning a new skill. It could be putting money into a business to grow it. The final ten percent you put into your savings account. The final ten percent you save.

In the last ten percent of the 60/30/10 budget, you save five percent of your currency, commonly called money, into gold and silver. Why do you do this? The Federal Reserve is devaluing your currency. The dollar has lost much of its value over time to currency devaluation. You want to exchange your fiat money for real gold and silver. Gold and silver are also important ways to preserve the wealth you may plan to pass on to your children and grandchildren. The currency may one day go to zero. Your stocks may crash. Your business may go under. Precious metals, particularly gold, are a form of monetary insurance.

It would help if you started to have your money work for you instead of you always working for your money. You may currently be trading your time for money. You can find ways to make extra money along with your main job by taking on a side hustle. You can find ways to make passive income. You could turn your passion into profit. You are the only person holding yourself back.

[bctt tweet=”The Internet has allowed ordinary people to leave their regular jobs. There are many creative ways to make passive income today with the Internet.” username=”@secure_single”]

You can learn about investing. You can make smart investments in assets that may increase in value. Every type of investment comes with some degree of risk. You are not guaranteed to make money, and you may lose money.

The #1 Secret Of Success: Never Give Up!

Would you like to know what the number one secret to success is? Never give up. This may seem evident on the surface, but too many people give up too soon or stop because they complain that it is too difficult.

The #1 Secret Of Success: Never Give Up!

Stop Making Excuses

People like to make up excuses for why they are not able to achieve a goal.

  • “I can’t lose twenty pounds because I don’t have time to go to the gym.”
  • “I can’t write a book because I don’t have time.”
  • “I can’t even afford to buy my own place.”
  • “I can’t ever pay off all of my debt.”
  • “I can’t ever make a six or seven-figure income.”

Words Matter

Your words matter. The words you tell yourself every day matter. Stop telling yourself that you can’t do something. You are teaching yourself negative thinking and a fixed mindset.

Change can’t to can.

  • “I can lose twenty pounds by going to the gym each week.”
  • “I can make time to write a book.”
  • “I can find ways to afford to buy my own place.”
  • “I can pay off all my debt.”
  • “I can find a way to make a six or seven-figure income.”

Stop Negative Self-Talk

Stop telling yourself that you are worthless, unlovable, poor, unsuccessful, or whatever else you may say to yourself. You are making your words a reality by calling yourself those words daily.

Positive Self-Talk

Tell yourself that you live a life worth living. You are lovable. You are capable of living. You can find a way to make enough money to get by. You can find a way to achieve financial independence. You can be successful. You can self-actualize your life goals.

Try Again. Try Again. Try Again.

You keep trying until you discover what works for you. The person you are following and who you may look up to found what worked for them. You can learn from them, but you may need a different skill set.

You continue to try new things, overcome challenges, and try again when it does not work out for you. You may have tried ninety-nine things that didn’t work. The one-hundredth time may finally be the one that works for you.

Learn From Your Mistakes

Success takes work. If you wanted to be like everyone else, you would not be working to do your own thing. You would be happy doing the safe thing just like everyone else who works a 9-5 and is stuck in the rat race.

Mistakes are how you learn. Failure is the best teacher. Your mistakes and failures will better guide you on what not to do as you mature, become more knowledgeable, and eventually achieve success.

Encourage Yourself

Start every day with the right mindset. Be positive. Practice a growth mindset. Learn from your mistakes. Encourage yourself the same way you would cheer on a friend competing in a tournament to succeed.

Never Give Up

Once you give up. You have closed the door on what could have been. When you give up, you shut the door on your vision. Once that door is closed, you have allowed yourself to give up your full potential to be like everyone else.

Never give up on working to achieve your goals, whatever they may be. Society and people will tell you are crazy to continue ongoing. People will ask you to stop. Never give up. Never.

How Is Self-Discipline The Key To Success?

You may be wondering, how is self-discipline the key to success? Discipline is the foundation of success. Without self-discipline, you will continue to be distracted and unproductive. Self-discipline is how you can work towards the life you want.

How Is Self-Discipline The Key To Success

5 Basic Self-Discipline Best Practices

There are five essential self-discipline best practices that you can start to follow. These strategies can help to improve your life significantly.

Habit Building

Self-discipline is habit-building. You are building small habits that can help you to become successful. These small habits can slowly change your trajectory. You can change your bad habits into good habits. When you eliminate as many bad habits as possible, good habits will direct your life.

Some bad habits could be staying up late, watching television, following influencers or people on social media, and eating an unhealthy diet. The good news is that you can transition from bad habits to good habits.

You can go to bed at a consistent time. You can turn off the fear-mongering television. You can unfollow or look at your social media apps less. You can start to eat a healthy diet. A balanced diet will also help you to have more energy.

Time Management

Time management is a critical aspect of self-discipline. If you do not learn to manage your time, you will lose seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years without knowing it. Instead of wasting your time by doing things that don’t benefit you, you can make every second of your day count.

You can allocate a certain amount of time to complete a specific task. You can then move on to your next project. Time management will become easier as you practice it. It can become a habit. Set time aside. Work to complete as much of a task as you can.

Time management is a strategy for how you can accomplish tasks.

Large Projects

Large projects take more time to complete. While you may be able to complete a small or medium-sized project in a day or two, a large project could take a week to a year or more. You can break your large projects into smaller portions. Breaking big tasks down into smaller segments will make them more manageable. This will prevent you from freezing, so you never complete the large project.

A great time management strategy is to work to complete your most significant task in the morning. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish it. You can next move on to a smaller project.

To-Do Lists

To-do lists are another strategy to ensure you get your tasks done daily. You can start small by working on completing one task. You can then move up to two tasks. You eventually want to be able to get three to five tasks done each day. Some tasks on your to-do list may require more time.

Once you follow your to-do lists, you will discover that the tasks you have always wanted to do are finished. Make a list. Stick to it as best as you can. You can also develop following to-do lists into a habit.

Make a list of the top three things you want to complete the next day. Assign to each approximately how long you think each project will take to finish. Make it a goal to achieve as much on your to-do list the next day you wake up.  This is a strategy that will also help you to become more productive.

Have A Plan

If you don’t have a plan, you will be part of someone else’s.

You must have a plan! You can set goals for yourself. You can only be successful with a plan and a strategy to make your life goals a reality. If you don’t have a plan, you will lose valuable time. You will continue to make excuses for not being where you want to be.

Without a plan, you will continue to remain stuck. You will need more time to get ahead. You will not see your life improve in any way. Your health will not improve. You won’t be able to improve your financial situation. Your relationships won’t improve.

A plan helps you achieve your goals. You combine good habits with time management strategies and complete your daily tasks, and then you can accomplish your goals.

You are responsible for your success.

Self-Discipline Is Freedom

Self-discipline is what leads to a life of freedom. You build habits. You work hard and smart until you accomplish your goals. You will then be able to have to gain more freedom.

You may be able to get your time back.  You can be more independent because you will not be constrained by trading your time for money. You could achieve financial independence. The best way to achieve financial freedom is by owning a business. You make people work for you. You can get your time back while making passive income by selling products and services.

Be Cautious Of Gurus And Institutions

Most people don’t want to practice self-discipline because they prefer the easy route. Some people like to believe that the establishment system has their best interest. A part of the population wants to think that gurus and talking heads are there to help you for the public good. If you feel like this, you give up your responsibility to succeed and transfer your commitment to another person or institution. They will tell you a nice story to make you feel good.

Self-discipline does not happen overnight. Success does not happen overnight. It requires hard work. It requires dedication.

Conclusion

Self-discipline is the foundation of success. With self-discipline, you can improve your life. You can stop being stuck. It will require you to take action to realize your life goals.

A Return To Self-Responsibility

Everything has become centralized, from the education system to the financial system to the government. Centralization leads to the potential problem of creating a single point of failure. What will you do when the institutions fail you, don’t accept your money, debank you, or become an enemy of the state because you are on the wrong side of a political narrative? While there is no perfect solution, a return to self-responsibility is a good starting place.

A Return To Self-Responsibility

Self-responsibility is required for freedom. In an age of comfort with access to movies and shows on demand, it is easy to want to stay stagnant. It may be painless to stay where you are. After all, you were likely told that the system and institutions would help you to succeed. Just go to college then you will be able to get into a better-paying career compared to if you didn’t go to college.

You will likely remain stuck as long you continue to think that the institutions have your best interest. You may find yourself living an unfree life. You may continue to do as you are told. You may stay stuck where you are. You may continue to do what others tell you to do. You may be a people pleaser. You may have never learned to say “no.”

You cannot rule over your life without taking responsibility and practicing self-discipline. You can make changes to be more disciplined and practice radical self-responsibility.

Self-responsibility requires you to learn self-discipline. That will require you to wake up and go to bed at a particular time. Work to complete tasks. Set yourself life goals for you to work to achieve. It requires hard work. That is how you can become successful in a society that wants you to be mediocre.

Self-Reliance

You can find ways to become more self-reliant. Being self-sufficient will help you regain the power the centralized institutions have taken from you. These are three strategies to become more self-reliant.

Gardening And Raising Animals

You could learn to garden and raise animals. You could plant a small garden. You could grow some vegetables on your patio or try a vertical garden. You could raise some small animals like rabbits or chickens. You will get protein from the animals while getting vegetables from your garden.

Know Your Farmers And Ranchers

You may not have enough space to start a garden or raise animals. It may also not interest you. Another option is to get to know your local farmers and ranchers. You go to your local farmer’s market.

You could buy a whole, half, or quarter cow to stock up on beef for the year to become less reliant on grocery stores. You can build relationships with your local farmer or rancher. You could then have the meat, vegetables, or fruit delivered. You could also meet the local farmer or rancher at an agreed-upon location if the drive is too far for either of you. Talk to them and come up with a plan.

You can find local farmers and ranchers in your area with Local Harvest. Local Harvest can show you where the closest farmers’ market, farmers, and ranchers are near you.

Passive Income Streams

As an employee, you lose your income if your boss fires you. Your income can also decrease if your boss decreases your hours from full-time to part-time. You want to build passive income streams so that you are independent of one source of income.

The best way to make passive income streams is by owning a business. A business has infrastructure. You want to move from the employee model to the business model in the ESBI Quadrant.

There are many ways to create passive income today. You can print on demand by self-publishing a book or selling merchandise online. You can create subscription services, like getting subscribers from Substack or selling a monthly subscription service on a website. You can have advertisements and affiliates program on a website, YouTube Channel, or both. It will only require you to spend some time researching to figure out how you want to create passive income. You then must come up with a plan and act on it.

You are your own best advocate. Take action. Build multiple income streams.

Self-Rule

You were likely trained by going through the education system, then even more if you went to college, then further if you went to graduate school or a doctoral program, you must have people rule over you in the form of politicians. Politicians, you are told, represent you. Do they represent you or the special interests who lobby them? Politicians, just like everyone else, put their self-interest first. That is why there is no such thing as a public servant.

You are a sovereign individual. You can take back your life by finding better ways to manage your time. You can work to improve yourself every day. You can practice self-responsibility. You can become more self-reliant. It is up to you to accept people ruling over you or take back your power by beginning to rule over yourself by taking action in your life.

Conclusion

A return to self-responsibility is freedom. Freedom is scary. That is why most people want safety, whether from the government or thinking they have job security.

What Is Self-Rule? A Return To Self-Responsibility

What is self-rule? With more people feeling frustrated with politicians, so-called “experts,” and the government, why do people think they need rulers? A return to self-responsibility and self-rule is the solution.

What Is Self-Rule?

Self-rule means that you control, rule, and direct your life. You are in charge of living your life so that you may achieve the outcome you want. You alone are in control of your life. No one else is. You have complete control and ownership of your life.

You rule over yourself. No one else does. No politician. No government. No government agency. No so-called “expert” or leader. You are the ruler of your body, mind, spirit, choices, actions, and property. You are a sovereign individual.

Problem With Centralized Power

Politicians and policymakers only make things worse for the average person. They make grandiose promises to people when running for election. The policymaker’s position is to write policies and regulations, making things more difficult for the ordinary person. Politicians and policymakers make it more difficult for small and medium-sized business owners by creating more rules or saying they must pay their workers a certain amount. This disincentivizes people who may want to start their own business but want to be entrepreneurial. This negatively affects the economy. It creates fewer jobs for people who wish to join the workforce.

Illusions Of Safety

This trend toward centralization of power has only continued to grow. This is especially true after September 11th and Covid in 2020. People are willing to give up their freedoms for safety. They eagerly give up their rights and freedoms. This makes the next generations less free.

The precedents have already been set with those two main events from the past two decades. You now must go through airport security in the name of safety. Next, they may require you to show your vaccination passport to travel anywhere. The G20 recently approved the vaccine passport to prevent future pandemics.

The problem is that it is not a vaccine passport. It is a data passport. It is another way to control you. Now connect the vaccine/data passport with a Central Bank Digital Currency, and you have no more control over your body or bank account.

When people in society no longer want to be responsible or disciplined, freedom vanishes from society. This is what has happened today. Past generations gave up their freedoms to politicians and the government. People willingly do this even though there is low trust in the government.

Loss Of Trust In Government

People continue to lose trust in the government. According to Pew Research, 64% of Americans have low faith in the federal government. Public confidence in government continues to reach new lows, as the chart by Pew Research shows below.

Source: Pew Research

Why people continue to vote for politicians and think that the government can provide solutions, given that 64% of people don’t trust the government, boggles my mind.

Yet, people continue to vote. People continue to think that the government is there to help them. Governments have killed the most people in history. The US Government has targeted its people many times, from Ruby Ridge to the assignation of Fred Hampton. And people think the government will keep them safe if they give up their guns with gun control?

“Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” – Mao Zedong

A Return To Self-Responsibility

Self-responsibility and self-discipline are required for freedom. You cannot rule over your life without taking responsibility and practicing self-discipline. You can make changes to be more disciplined and practice radical self-responsibility.

You will likely remain stuck when you continue to think that the institutions have your best interest. You may find yourself living an unfree life. You continue to do as you are told. You stay stuck where you are. You continue to do what others ask you to please others.

The only person who is responsible for you is you. Take responsibility. Rule over your life!

It is natural to govern yourself rather than be controlled by another person. This contrasts with being dependent on society, so-called “experts,” or the government. It is up to you if you would instead rule over your own life or have rulers rule over you who dictate what you can and cannot do in your everyday life. It does not matter if they are politicians, policymakers, a so-called “expert,” or someone else that society has said you must respect because of their position. Just because they have a position does not mean you must respect them.

It does not mean that they are better than you. It does not give them the right to dictate your life. Tell you what you can and cannot do.

There is nothing wrong with questioning authority. Think for yourself—question everything. People can do this if they want to push back against centralized power. They can then start to accept self-responsibility and self-govern over their lives.

It is up to you if you want to be ruled over by politicians, so-called “experts,” and “leaders, or if you want to take responsibility and rule over your life or be ruled over by others. Take back your life. You can start today.

Conclusion

Politicians, the government, and centralized institutions do not have the power to dictate your life. There are ways that you can take back control of your life. It begins with you. You must start accepting self-responsibility and want to rule over your life daily. You can then start to discover strategies to become more self-reliant.

Take back your life. You can start today.

Self-love is a necessary step before you can move on to self-acceptance. You can then begin to develop self-awareness. You won’t respect yourself until you accept yourself and love yourself first.

You can begin to accept yourself for your weaknesses. You can start to forgive yourself for your mistakes. It won’t be easy, but it can help your self-love journey.

Self-interest is an aspect of self-love. It is natural for you to want to be successful. You will take actions that give you an advantage. It is natural to play to your strengths. Self-interest is natural. There is nothing wrong with wanting to reach your life goals and be successful.

Once you can love yourself, you can then begin treating yourself better. You can then practice self-care. You can take care of yourself. You can become more confident. You want to work to achieve your life goals.

7  Ways Society Distracts You From Practicing Self-Love

There are many ways in which society distracts you. Society does not want you to learn to love yourself. It does not want you to learn to know yourself. It misleads you with entertainment, fear, and stress.

Entertainment

Social media and entertainment are ways to prevent you from getting to know yourself. You may compare yourself to others you see on social media. This will affect your self-esteem and your self-image.

Entertainment on television, Netflix, or watching your favorite influencer or content creator are ways to ensure you are distracted. The entertainment industry is there to prevent you from being productive.

Solution

Entertainment can be a waste of time. You don’t need to watch the latest movie or television show to be happy. You can start to use your social media accounts less. You could consider canceling your subscriptions to save money. You can then become more productive.

Fear

The mainstream media keeps you in a state of fear. It does this by showing and telling you information that is always bad. The goal is to keep you in a state of fear to prevent you from acting in your own life.

When you are fearful, you cannot function. You go into a defensive mode. When you are on defense, you will never be able to find ways to improve yourself or to get ahead. This is precisely what the mainstream media’s role is. To prevent you from being afraid of whatever the current new enemy or fear is rather than from focusing on yourself.

Solution

Turn off the television. Stop watching the news. 99% of the time, what is on the news won’t directly affect you.

Financial Stress

The financial system is built on debt. That is why the system wants you to be in debt. Add on top of the financial stress from being in debt, unable to get by each month, and then having to pay your taxes each year to scrape by, and it is no wonder why people are stressed.

Solution

You can take on a side hustle to bring in extra income. You could eventually turn your side gig into your full-time job once it brings in more money than your current job. You could also consider starting a business. A business can be a physical or online business today.

Relationship Stress

Your relationships with yourself, friends, or family may need improvement. This can add to your stress. If you have difficulty with a relationship, you may have to work to repair it. This will require you to put time and effort into a relationship.

Solution

If you have toxic people in your life, get rid of them. You can spend less time focusing on external relationships and work to develop the relationship with yourself.

Emotional Stress

Emotional stress is a natural reaction to the stresses of life. You may have depression, anxiety, lose or gain weight, drink too much, or have another emotional problem. You may just have experienced a bad day at work.

Emotional stress can negatively affect how you view yourself. If you experience depression, at worst, you may think that life is not worth living. You don’t think you could ever practice self-love when you have dark thoughts. Self-love is a process that starts every single day again.

Solution

You can practice meditation. You can do an activity that calms you down. Destress and control your emotions. Work to rid yourself of negative emotions and replace them with positive emotions.

Romantic Relationships

Romantic relationships can be distractions. People may be single for many different reasons. Society tells people to focus on romantic relationships rather than learning self-love. People do not know about themselves this way. They become distracted and waste valuable time and money on dating.

Solution

You can learn to enjoy being single! You can focus on yourself. You don’t need to date or marry to be happy.

Giving Up Self-Responsibility

Society wants you to give up your self-responsibility to politicians and the government. It tells you that politicians and the government are there to serve you. Politicians would never use their position of power to benefit themselves. That could never happen. Politicians would never put their self-interest before voters. They would never do insider trading or put the interests of their lobbyist friends before you to put money into their pocket.

If you believe politicians are angels, you still believe in a fairy tale.

Solution

You can practice self-responsibility. You can work to find ways to become less reliant on politicians, the government, and other institutions. You can work to take back your life. You can begin to find ways to have more control over areas of your life.

Conclusion

Self-love is important. The most important relationship is the one that you have with yourself. Yet society distracts you with things from entertainment to the news to your financial situation. You can learn to love yourself for who you are. You can then begin focusing on yourself to improve your situation.

The Essential Guide For How To Find Your Life Purpose

Society wants to misdirect you so that you never become successful. It has many distractions to prevent you from learning about yourself. Society does not want you to know how to find your life purpose. You must know four things about yourself before finding your life purpose.

The Essential Guide For How To Find Your Life Purpose

4 Steps For How You Can Find Your Life Purpose

Four steps can direct you to find your life purpose.

Your Natural Skills

You need to know your natural skills to discover what you are good at. You will continue to be frustrated. You will continue to go along to get along. You will continue trying new things to become a master of everything, yet a master of none. You can learn to master what you are best at before you can improve another skill you want to know.

While soft skills are practical, hard skills are the most vital skills to learn. Hard skills are what will make you stand out from your peers. Hard skills are what employers care the most about. Soft skills are merely the icing on the cake. Figure out what your natural skills are, then master them.

Knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is power.

Your Interests

Your interests will likely match your skills. They will likely complement each other. What are you interested in? It could be a hobby or something you do part-time on the side. Are you passionate about a specific topic, field, or area? It could be computers, carpentry, business, website design, etc. Once you discover your main interests, you can see if they relate to your skills.

You can figure out what your interests may be by trying new things. You can talk and learn from others. You can read about or watch videos on things that interest you online. You could take an online course from someone. You could get a job or internship in an area that appeals to you to see if you enjoy it.

A Problem You Care About

You will then want to use your interests and skills to solve a problem you care about. It doesn’t need to be anything significant. It could be as simple as wanting to reach people or teach them about an issue, topic, or skill.  It could be using your interests and skills to gain experience at a job to build up work experience. Once you have met these three criteria, you want to ensure that you get paid for what you are good at.

Get Paid For What You Do

When you master a skill. You never want to give away your skills for free. You want to make money for your skills.

You can work for an employer. You could be self-employed. You could become a business owner. You can learn about the ESBI Quadrant and determine which model works best. You will make the most in the business and investor models. The bottom line is that you want to get paid for your skillset.

As Joker wisely said in The Dark Knight, “If you’re good at something, never do it for free.” Heed his words. Make sure that you get paid for your skills. Never do anything for free. Villains can be excellent life mentors. I always liked villains more than heroes. Villains usually had more personality.

Life Purpose

You will have found your life purpose when you discover the bullseye where those four things meet. Once you figure out your interests, natural skills, and a problem you want to solve and can make money from, you have found your life purpose. A visual of this is in the diagram below.

Society wants to prevent people from being successful and happy. Society pressures people to do many things, from going to college to thinking they must be in romantic relationships to be satisfied while neglecting to discover these four essential things. Society wants people to focus on external validation, not internal validation. All the things that lead you to find your life purpose relate to internal validation.

Until You Find What Your Purpose Is, Focus On Yourself

It is a process to discover your skills, interests, and a problem you want to care about. In the meantime, you can do things to improve your life while continuing to learn about yourself. Here are six things you can focus on while you work to find your life purpose.

Work

You can work. This will help you to try new things while making some money. You could find an internship. You could work part-time or full-time. Working allows you to learn to interact with people in-person or online.

Today, you have a range of options when it comes to you. You could work in person, or you would work online remotely for an employer. You could also freelance using websites like Fiverr or Upwork. You can learn valuable skills while working. You will also be making money, even if it is only a tiny amount working your first few jobs. When you begin to make money, you can learn to save money.

Save Money

You can begin to save money. Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck. You can open a savings account with your bank. You can work to build an FU Fund. At a minimum, it should have $30,000 in it or whatever the amount is to cover a year’s worth of expenses in case of an emergency.

You can then learn about budgeting and investing once you have saved enough. You want to make your money to start to work for you instead of you always working for your money.

Travel

You can also travel. You don’t need to travel the world, although it can be beneficial to visit another country if you can. Otherwise, you can travel within your own country. You can even visit places in the state, city, or town you may live where you usually wouldn’t go. Travel allows you to gain valuable experiences that you may be unable to get elsewhere.

Build Relationships With People

You can build relationships with people in your community. You can make friends where you live. You can spend time with your family. People are naturally social animals. Find like-minded people with similar interests, values, and goals.

Find A Mentor

If there is something that you want to do or are just curious about, you can find a mentor who has experience in that field. This will give you more information from learning from someone firsthand to determine if it is something you enjoy. You can also find different types of mentors.

You could find a spiritual mentor. You could find a mentor who enjoys the same hobbies as you do. You could find a business mentor. A mentor should be someone you look up to, can learn from, and has more experience than you so that you can learn from them. You can learn life lessons that could save time if you heed their advice.

Trial And Error

Failure is the best teacher. If you can learn from others’ mistakes, it will save you time. However, you will learn much about yourself and what you are good at through trial and error. It is the most complicated way to learn, but sometimes that can be the best teacher.

Conclusion

These are the four ways how to identify your life purpose. You will continue to fine-tune and improve your skills throughout your lifetime. Self-education is how you continue to learn. Continue to challenge yourself and work to become the best version of yourself every day. If you enjoy what you do, it will be easier for you to do those things.

The Complete Guide For How To Focus On Yourself

In a world that continues to move faster and more people are trying to get your attention, the best thing you can do is start to focus on yourself. It is not selfish to focus on yourself. When you begin to focus on yourself, you will see results in your own life. As you start to focus on yourself, you will discover that you will achieve your goals faster and be more successful in your life. Rather than worrying about what other people think about you, you can work towards internal validation when you start to work on yourself. Here is the complete guide for how to focus on yourself in a busy world fighting for your attention.

The Complete Guide For How To Focus On Yourself

Article Overview

This article is broken down into nine sections. The first part focuses on distractions and forms of validation. The second part of this article focuses on external versus internal validation. The third section is on developing good life habits. The fourth part breaks down psychology from negative thinking to the growth mindset. The fifth part focuses on your well-being. The sixth section focuses on money and your financial health. The seventh part is on relationships from your family to toxic people. The eighth section is on community. The ninth part covers achieving self-actualization in a society that wants you to be mediocre. After reading this article, you will understand the variety of areas you can focus on in your life. It is then up to you to develop the area that needs the most work in your life.

Part 1: Distractions And Forms Of Validation

External Distractions

There are many different types of external distractions. An external distraction wastes time that you could spend investing in yourself. Some common distractions people encounters are politics, news, bad relationships, social media, and wasting your time doing activities that do not benefit you. When you focus on external distractions, you will remain stuck where you are in life. These distractions do not provide any benefit to you. They only take time away from your life that you could direct to better yourself.

Society raises us to believe that the institutions such as politics, mainstream media, and others are worth your attention. If you don’t pay attention or have an opinion about current events, your view is automatically labeled as wrong or incorrect. The problem is that all of these things are merely distractions from keeping you from achieving your full potential in life. Instead of embracing your uniqueness, when you spend your time and energy on external distractions, your distinctive personality gets lost by going along with the masses.

Society says that institutions are there to help you when the central institutions you were raised to believe instill fear into your life. The reality is that only you can solve your problems. When you stop believing that these institutions and people, whom all have their self-interests, are there to help you and start to focus on yourself instead, you will begin to see your life improve.

Politics

Society raises people to place politicians on a pedestal and treat them with the utmost respect. Politics is also a waste of time. You are putting your trust in someone in a position of power who has their self-interest. Politicians are not public servants, and they are not leaders. Politicians do not contribute anything beneficial to society. If they did serve the people and not the big corporations, it would be less likely that politicians on both sides of the political aisle, such as Austin Scott, Dan Crenshaw, and Nancy Pelosi, would beat the S & P 500. We’d be thrown in jail for insider trading if you or I did what these politicians did.  When you stop paying attention to politics, you have more time to focus on developing yourself.

Mainstream Media

Society raises people to trust people in authority, including the news anchors on the mainstream media. They would never lie to you, right?  The mainstream media is not in the business of giving you accurate news. The mainstream media’s job, be it Fox News or CNN, is to make you fearful, spread propaganda, and keep you distracted by pushing the current thing. The fear-mongering has been evident over the last two years; then, the mainstream media moves on to the new current topic to keep you distracted and in fear. It does not matter if it is a pandemic, a threat of nuclear war, Roe v. Wade being overturned, or whatever the next thing is.

If you watch the mainstream media, you will more likely be in fear. You will also be more distracted by wanting to keep up with the news. Fear and distraction are two vital things that will prevent you from accomplishing what you need to get done.

Social Media

Social media further drives this problem because you see the reality that people want you to think about them when it is a projected reality. In other words, it is not real. There is nothing social about social media. According to Uswitch, Americans spent more than 1,300 hours on social media. Facebook was the most used social media platform.

Social, or digital, media is a popular distraction that most people use, from scrolling through their social media feeds to watching YouTube videos when that time could be spent on more productive tasks. Another distraction could be to keep putting things off until the last minute that you know you need to do, but you do the fun activities before the complex tasks.

Entertainment

Entertainment is another external distraction. Whether you enjoy watching YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon, it is entertainment. It can be nice to relax from time to time. However, if you end up spending most of your day watching mindless entertainment, then you are wasting valuable time that you could use to be productive to improve yourself. If you have multiple subscriptions to entertainment services like YouTube TV to Amazon Plus, those subscriptions are cutting your budget. Instead, you could choose to cut back on your entertainment and invest your money in stocks, self-education, or other ways that will help improve your life.

People Who Waste Your Time

People who waste your time can be another external distraction. These could be people you may or may not enjoy spending time with. One of the best lessons to learn in life is to tell people no. You can work to sift through the people who waste your time while you work to surround yourself with like-minded people. When it comes to people, find people who share your values and tell people no. When you tell people no, it shows that you value your time, stay busy, and it is a sign of strength instead of always going along with people by being a people pleaser.

Part 2: External Versus Internal Validation

External Validation

Most people spend their time focusing on external validation rather than internal validation. Some examples of external validation are receiving your validation from your relationship status, hanging out with the right people, the number of likes/subscribers/followers you have on social media, or trying to prove yourself to other people. You will always be chasing to increase the number of likes, followers, or influential people you relate to in your life. External distraction may feel nice for a short time, but it is not as long-lasting as internal validation. When external validation is your focus, you will learn that people will let you down in your life. External validation is a temporary form of validation.

Internal Validation

Instead of worrying about what people may think about you, your relationship status, or comparing yourself to the Kardashians or the Joneses, you can focus on internal validation. Internal validation occurs when you say and prove to yourself that you can do something that you thought that you could not do. The three critical areas in your life where you can work to validate yourself are health, money, and relationships. You are all you need. You can start to work to achieve your life goals by validating yourself instead of wasting your time with toxic people who could drop you in a second.

Part 3: Life Habits

Good Habits

Key Point: [bctt tweet=”Self-education is a life skill, and college teaches you little to nothing.” via=”no”]

You can work to develop good life habits. These will hold you in good stead as you work to improve yourself every single day. Self-education is a vital life skill. You never stop learning in life, and college teaches you very little. You can start to wake up earlier and develop a consistent sleep routine. Your time is the one thing that we all have in common, yet it is the one thing that we can never get back. Learn to manage your time better by being productive during your day. The final way is to learn to confront your fears. If you do not face your fears, your worries will control you and your life.

Stop Procrastinating

If you are a procrastinator, work to overcome your bad habits. You can work to break your large projects into smaller, manageable chunks. You can create to-do lists to help you keep track of tasks that you need to get done. To complete your goals, your to-do list can be daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. A change of environment can also help to improve your performance in completing a task. You can change your room if you need a quiet space to concentrate, while you may do better at other tasks on your to-do list in a more open room or a public area like a coffee shop.

It is critical to give yourself deadlines when it comes to stopping procrastination. Break all of your projects into small tasks that you can complete, and give yourself a deadline for each. You can finish a large project by breaking it down into smaller chunks. You will then have a range of small deadlines to help hold you accountable for completing your goal. Also, eliminate unnecessary time-wasters from your life. A time waster could be wasting time checking your email in the morning, constantly checking your social media, being overly social, or wasting time with toxic people who do not contribute positively to your life.

Time is your most valuable asset. Everyone has the same twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and a year. Yet, it is up to you if you choose to waste your time or to use it to focus on yourself to help you succeed in reaching your goals. If you continue to procrastinate, you will remain stuck where you are, but you can become successful if you develop good living habits.

Part 4: Psychology

Negative Thinking

Key Point: [bctt tweet=”How you think affects the other areas of your life and that is why practicing positive thinking and having a growth mindset is vital to personal development.” via=”no”]

Negative thinking can destroy your mental health and your life. Negative thinking is a “mental attitude of anticipating the worst possible outcomes on situations, events, and circumstances… Negative thoughts are intrusive, disturbing, annoying, and unwelcome.” If you allow negative thinking to control you, you will always be stuck where you are. There are also negative thinking traits that society presents as being admirable. An example of negative thinking is perfectionism.

Perfectionism is an example because you are taught that there are only right and wrong answers to test questions from grade school to the higher education system. This creates perfectionists. Perfectionism is a type of negative thinking because it connects to having low self-esteem. People with low self-esteem are more likely to need to control everything in their lives. Why? Perfectionism is a coping mechanism to hide the negative feelings about themselves.

Positive Thinking

Many benefits come with practicing positive thinking. According to the study called Positive Psychology and Physical Health: Research and Applications the following are advantages of positive thinking:

  • Increased physical well-being
  • Enhanced psychological health
  • Increased physical well-being
  • Longer life span
  • Greater resistance to the common cold
  • Decreased rates of depression
  • Reduced rates of cardiovascular disease-related to death

Positive thinking will help you improve your overall life from psychological to physical well-being. Positive thinking also connects to a growth mindset. Negative thinking relates to a fixed mindset. Positive thinking and a growth mindset will help you in your life journey as you build self-confidence to achieve your goals.

Mindset

Mindset is a crucial factor that will determine your success in life. If you have gone through any higher education system, as I have, then you most likely have a fixed mindset. Higher education teaches you there is one solution to a problem. The reality is that there are many ways to solve a problem. The college system makes you believe the world is black and white. If you pass or fail a test, then your life is set. If you do well in school, you will have a great career. At least that is what school tells you, even though it is not true. This type of thinking limits you and trains you in a fixed mindset.

Mindset is everything. You are your only limit. However, society trains people through the education system and other institutions that it is better to obey because society wants you to remain stuck where you are rather than succeed. Society wants you to stay stuck at the job you hate, stay poor, and not become the best version of yourself by living a happy, complete, and prosperous life.

Fixed Mindset

A fixed mindset limits yourself to what you think you can do. You are fixed in what you believe you are capable of and can do in life. To do something, you may feel that you must have a degree from a university or a certification from an educational institution to be proficient in a skill. If you have a fixed mindset, you will likely have low self-confidence and self-esteem and may even loathe yourself. You are complacent and obey because you think that is how you will get ahead in life.

If you think this way and have a fixed mindset, do not worry because you can overcome it and develop a growth mindset. You will have to identify your limiting beliefs about what you think you can’t do: learn a new skill, make money, change careers, become self-employed, improve how you look or live a life that you want to live. The institutions you went through and thought were helping you taught you the fixed mindset. However, you can work to develop a growth mindset in your life.

Growth Mindset

In contrast to the fixed mindset is the growth mindset. A growth mindset is based on the belief that you can cultivate, grow, and develop your skills and abilities over time. You can figure out how to make the most of your talents, interests, and skills by first knowing what they are and then always working to hone them so that you are a master in your area of expertise. A growth mindset acknowledges that you can learn skills over time, grow over time, and develop as an individual over your lifetime. A growth mindset focuses on self-education, personal development, and improving slowly over your lifetime.

Know Yourself

It is also crucial that you know yourself. The best way to start learning about yourself is to know your strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, problems that you want to solve, and things you want to improve in your life. You can learn about yourself by asking yourself the basic questions you probably learned in elementary school in English class: who, what, where, when, why, and how. When you ask variations of those questions in your life, you will start to work towards them. The more you know yourself, the faster you can begin to find your passions in life and work to achieve your life goals.

Discover Your Life Purpose

As you work to know yourself, you can work to discover your life purpose. You can find your life purpose by finding a need in the world or a problem that you care about and then working to find a solution to solve the need or problem. You can then work to identify your natural skills and strengths, which are your natural gifts. Next, you can discover what you love to do and your interests in your life. When you figure out those three things, you will have found your life purpose. The diagram below shows it in an easy-to-understand way. Find this as soon as you can in life to prevent yourself from becoming a cog in society’s machine.

Part 5: Your Well-Being

Focus On Your Well-Being

There are many different areas of your life that you can work to focus on yourself. The great thing about being single is that you have fewer distractions. You don’t have to worry about a significant other, family, or children. This is the perfect opportunity to focus on improving your life in three critical areas of life that everyone deals with. You can improve the three key areas: your health, relationships, and work to grow your wealth. You can work to enhance your well-being in all the areas of your life!

Personal Well-Being

It is vital to take care of your well-being. Seven main areas contribute to your well-being: physical, mental, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial. These are the different parts that make up a person you can focus more on to improve yourself daily. Start with one, then move on to another and watch yourself improve in your life over time!

Physical Well-Being

Physical well-being is when you take care of your body with exercise, going to the gym, and following a consistent diet. This may be referred to as body or physical health because you are working to improve how you look in different ways. Physical health is taking care of your body. You can improve your physical health by dieting, cardio exercise, weightlifting, and working on getting your body in peak condition. You will also feel better about yourself when you want to look your best. You may want to get six-pack abs or fit to look sexy for bikini season or anywhere in-between! When you focus on improving your body’s physical health, you will be more self-confident while teaching and learning self-discipline. After all, self-discipline is freedom.

Popular workout exercises are High Interval Intermittent Training (HIIT), cardio exercises on different machines, and lifting weights. All three of those types of exercises and following a healthy diet will help you improve the well-being of your body. If you are new to working out at the gym, it is worth investing in a personal trainer who can show you how to use all the gym equipment properly. A personal trainer can also write you a custom exercise and workout plan to help you achieve your body goals faster, whether to get lean to look and feel better or make gains by lifting more weights.

Many popular diets will help you lose weight. Some of the most popular diets are the Mediterranean Diet, Keto Diet, Carnivore, and the vegan diet. You can choose the diet that fits your needs and lifestyle best. Your diet compliments your exercise as you work to get fit by exercising or going to the gym. Rather than eating crappy processed foods, you can eat a consistently healthy diet that will help you get stronger as you exercise or go to the gym. When you focus on your diet and getting exercise, you learn self-discipline, which can help you in other areas of your life. Self-discipline also leads to freedom in your life.

Mental Well-Being

Mental Health

Mental health is vital because it affects other parts of your life. According to the Mayo Clinic, mental health “refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.” Your mental health affects how you feel, think, and view yourself.

Positive Mental Health

Many benefits come with positive mental health. You will improve your self-image and how you view and think about yourself. Positive mental health will help you improve your relationships with your friends and family. You will experience a higher quality of life because once your mental health thrives, your entire life will begin to flourish.

Maintain Mental Well-Being

Mental health plays a critical role in personal wellness. For that reason, it is vital to pay attention to your mental health. Here is a list of ways to improve your mental health and well-being:

  • Get enough sleep and rest
  • Practice meditation or prayer
  • Exercise regularly
  • Learn positive coping skills
  • Keep in touch with friends and family
  • Exercise regularly
  • Maintain a positive outlook on life
  • Practice positive thinking
  • Consider seeing a therapist or counselor

Depending on your mental health and your personal history, it may be worth considering seeing a mental health professional like a therapist. A therapist or counselor could help you better understand yourself and find ways to develop, improve, and maintain your mental well-being. Therapy can also be a valuable tool to address negative behaviors and negative thoughts and provide you with tools to work to make changes to improve your life.

Intellectual Well-Being

Intellectual well-being is being able to learn to think critically and to think for yourself. The best education does not come from going to college. Education does not come from getting an overpriced fancy degree from a fancy university, then contributing to degree inflation. The best education is self-education. Self-education is more accessible today because of the Internet, discovering websites, content creators, and channels online. You can learn anything from how to plant a garden to the philosophical thoughts of an esoteric philosopher.

Intellectual well-being is being intellectually curious. Always continue to educate yourself every day on what you are passionate about. Never stop learning! Your intellectual health will also be able to learn how to think critically. All that is required to think critically is to ask the basic questions: who, what, where, when, why, and how. Remember, there is nothing wrong with questioning authority.

Emotional Well-Being

Emotional well-being is also referred to as emotional wellness. Your emotional health is essential. According to BetterUp, “Emotional well-being is the ability to produce positive emotions, moods, thoughts, and feelings, and adapt when confronted with adversity and stressful situations.”

Self-resilience is foundational to your emotional well-being. Self-resiliency is like a muscle because it becomes stronger as you navigate life’s challenges. An example of self-resilience may be when you are fired from your job.  Instead of viewing this negatively, you can use this as an opportunity to learn new skills to make changes in your career path.

Poor Emotional Well-Being

According to The National Institute For Emotional Wellness, “Emotional wellness refers to an awareness, understanding and acceptance of our feelings, and our ability to manage effectively through challenges and change.” Poor emotional well-being results in:

  • A weaker immune system
  • Hypertension or high blood pressure
  • Increased illness as stress worsens everything from heart issues to psychiatric problems.
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Work problems or difficulties at your workplace
  • Relationship issues with friends, families, or loved ones

When you focus on your positive well-being, your life will begin to improve. You can transition from practicing negative thinking to positive thinking and work to develop a growth mindset. How you think, and the type of mindset you have in life will determine if you successfully achieve your goals.

Social Well-Being

Social well-being or social wellness also contributes to your physical well-being. According to the Health Insurance Fund of Australia, “Social health can be defined as our ability to interact and form relationships with others.” There are health benefits that come from interacting with and being social with people in your daily life. Likewise, people with low social interactions and loneliness are more likely to die younger than those who are more social according to a study called Social Relationships and Health: A Flashpoint for Health Policy. According to a study from Brigham Young University, loneliness and social isolation can even kill you.

Negative Social Well-Being

Negative social well-being can affect your mental and physical health. The health issues that can result from poor social health are:

  • Suffering a heart attack
  • Chronic disease
  • Mobility issues
  • High blood pressure
  • Raised stress hormones that lead to inflammation
  • Cancer
  • Poor mental health
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Poor immune system
  • Suicidal thoughts and suicide

Positive Social Well-Being

Rather than dealing with the negative health consequences of poor social health, you can work to improve your social health. You can practice self-care in your life. You can work to make friends and maintain the current friendships in your life. You can learn small talk, how to talk to people, and how to read people’s body language. You can reach out to reconnect with an old friend to try to rekindle the friendship. You can be involved in your local community to find like-minded people who share your values. You can interact and meet people at your gym.

Spiritual Well-Being

Spiritual well-being or spiritual health is another area of personal health. If you are religious, spiritual, or agnostic, you can work on your spiritual health. You can practice meditation. You can work on breathing and remaining calm instead of being controlled by anxiety and fear. You can contemplate life and what may come afterward, if anything. You can pray. You can go to church, pray the rosary, or do other religious practices that are part of your belief system.

Financial Well-Being

Financial well-being or financial health is a critical aspect of your well-being. While this will be covered in more detail below in the money category, your financial well-being will help you in other areas of your life. Paying off or being behind on your student loans, debt, mortgage, credit card bills, career, or being unable to buy the things you need to live can lead to stress. Financial health can directly influence your physical, mental, emotional, and social health by causing stress in your life. However, you can work to improve your financial well-being in your life.

Part 6: Money

One of the most vital things you can learn to manage is your money and finances. However, society does not want to teach people how to manage and grow their money over time. This is especially true in a society based on consumerism, debt, and credit.

Five Different Asset Classes

Key Point: [bctt tweet=”Modern society is based on consumerism, debt, and credit, and to become financially successful, you must learn about investing and how to manage your money.” via=”no”]

According to the Corporate Finance Institute, there are five different financial asset classes. The first financial asset class is stock or equities. The second financial asset class is bonds or other fixed-income investments. The third financial asset class is cash or cash equivalents, such as a money market fund. The fourth financial asset class is real assets such as real estate. The fifth financial asset class is forex, futures, and other derivatives. You can work to diversify your portfolio over time to include each of these five types of financial asset classes. While it is vital to understand the five different financial asset classes, you can start by learning the basics of finance and managing your money.

Basics of Finance

There are some basics of financial education, but you can always continue to educate yourself about money and finance. I was only taught the basic things about money, such as budgeting, the bare minimum about saving, and investing. However, there is much to learn about finance connected to understanding the monetary system, economics, and the best places to get a return on investment. Below is an overview of some of the core financial terms you may come across if you are new to finance and the world of investing. It is by no means a complete list.

Budgeting

It is vital to have a budget. A budget teaches you self-discipline. A budget teaches you how to manage your money. You will also be able to track where your money is going in your bank accounts. You can budget using the envelop method or with budgeting apps. You Need A Budget (YNAB) is one budgeting app that you can use that will sync to your bank accounts. Once you start to manage your money, you can work to spend less than you make and put the extra into your savings accounts.

Savings

A savings account is the second checking account you will likely have alongside your checking account. Your savings account is where you can put your money to start accumulating capital in your own life. While savings accounts have low-interest rates right now, you can put your money there until you decide how you want to invest it. Your goal should be to spend less than you make, then put the extra into your savings. This is a way to begin building capital that you invest in different areas to continue growing your wealth over your lifetime.

Investing

As you grow your savings account, you can then start to invest. Investing is a broad term for making money, and there are lots of ways how you can do it. But it is most generally used to invest in the stock market, bonds, and fixed-income investments. You can also invest in real assets like real estate, which will give you consistent passive income as long as you have a tenant renting. You can invest in the different asset classes depending on your risk tolerance and financial goals. Generally, the more risk something has, the higher the return on the investment will be.

Speculating

While investing is necessary, you can learn to speculate. You will take more risk speculating than investing, but if you are correct, your reward will be higher than playing it safe by investing in a safe stock. According to Doug Casey of International Man, there are nine secrets for successful speculation.

The first secret is that “contrarianism takes courage.” The second secret is that “success takes discipline.” The third secret is “analysis over emotion.” The fourth secret is to “trust your gut.” The fifth step is to “assume bullshytt.” Bullshytt means anything that may be misleading or empty of meaning. The sixth step is to know that “the trend is your friend.” The seventh secret is “only speculate with money you can afford to lose.” The eighth secret is “stack the odds in your favor.” The final secret is “you can’t kiss all the girls,” which means you will always find another speculative opportunity if you miss one. Just as the soulmate theory, or oneitis, is a myth, there will always be another opportunity.

Real Assets

Once you reach a certain point of financial stability, you can start to invest in real assets. These are real assets that you own and are not just digits on a screen. They exist in real life, so you have control over them. Most of these real assets have a higher cost of entry, although you can get a physical asset such as silver which is currently undervalued compared to most other assets in a bubble. Real assets include commodities, real estate, owning a physical or online business, and products that you can sell through a business. Real assets, such as a business or real estate, will generate cash flow while a real asset, such as a commodity, will not.

Work To Achieve Your Financial Goals

The bottom line is that you need to find a way to achieve your financial goals. You are responsible for your situation. It will require you to learn to budget, manage your money, and get more sophisticated in your investment strategies. A financial goal could be buying your own house, investing a certain amount of money each month in the stock market or cryptocurrencies, or saving in precious metals instead of keeping the money you want to save in the bank.

Part 7: Relationships

Key Point: [bctt tweet=”People are naturally social creatures, and it is vital to surround yourself with like-minded people in your community.” via=”no”]

There are three main types of relationships besides romantic relationships. While erotic, romantic, and mania love receive the most attention from society, there are different types of non-romantic love that you can focus on. When you pay less attention to romantic love and instead work to invest in yourself, you will become the person you always wanted to become. You will meet other people who think and share the same values as you along your transformational journey.

Relationship With Yourself

It is essential to have a relationship as you focus and work on yourself in your relationship with yourself. This is called Philautia, or self-love. You need to know yourself by understanding your passions, strengths, and weaknesses. If you are always hating yourself, then you will never learn self-love. You are your own worst enemy, yet you can also be your own best friend. Once you can love yourself as the unique person you are, you will begin to accept yourself despite all of your flaws. When you fully accept yourself and love yourself for who you are, then you can proceed to work to succeed at reaching your life goals.

Family

Familial love is the love of family. Family is essential in the life of singles. While no one has a perfect family, you can work to get along with the family you do have in your life. You could get together with your family once a week for dinner if they live nearby. Or, you could do a phone or video call with your family members to keep current with their lives.

Friendship

Philia is the love of friendship. You can start to spend more time with your friends. Rather than just making small talk with your friends, you can work to begin to get to know your friends on a deeper level by asking questions. Small talk is just about the weather, what they do, and what they may think about this, from sports to politics. However, in a quality friendship, you will be able to talk about issues and topics that are important to you.

Types of Friends

Best Friend

Everyone wants a best friend. Yet it is tough to turn a friend into a best friend because a few factors will contribute to making a best friend: time, mutual interests, shared values, getting along with each other, and talking to each other regularly. If you have a best friend, consider yourself blessed.

Friends

The second type of friend is the friend you spend time with consistently. You see these friends often enough that you know their names, you have had a conversation with them, and you know enough about them that you can start a conversation with them. These friends may invite you out to do something or go to a party because you are on a first-name basis. You would do the same with your friends. However, you will not have deep or meaningful conversations like you would have with your best friend.

Acquaintances

Acquaintances are casual friends. These are people whom you may only see every once and a while. You may see them out at your favorite bar, at church, or at the gym. You may know their first names and have had a few conversations with them. However, you don’t know them as well, and you don’t see them as consistently as your friends.

Colleagues

Your work friends, or colleagues, are another type of friends that you may have in your life. This may not apply to you, depending on how much you separate your professional life from your regular life. However, you still have to know your colleagues and get along with them well enough to keep the relationship from getting uncomfortable at your workplace. You do this because you want to please your boss and receive your paycheck, but you also recognize that if you are consistently late, your colleagues must pick up and do extra work that you were responsible for.

“Friends” And “Connections”

In the age of social media, you have “friends” and “connections” on many different platforms. They may be called other things: “friends,” “followers,” or “connections.” However, how many have you met and talked to of the hundreds, thousands, or maybe millions of friends/connections/followers you may have? Those people are not your friends in real life. They are just the digital identity or fake digital identity of someone. The person could not even be natural.

Toxic Friends And Negative People

A toxic friend or a negative person can be a best friend, a friend, an acquaintance, or a colleague at work. These types of people are leeches in your life. They will take away your time, energy, and strengths. Your time, energy, and knowing your strengths will make you successful in life. Toxic people will prevent you from achieving success by making you feel bad about yourself, lowering your self-confidence, and will keep you in a state of negative thinking. Toxic friends and negative people suck out all of the positivity and energy from your life. It would help if you had that positivity and energy to work to achieve your goals. There are many different types of toxic people, but here are three main ones to be aware of as you navigate people in life.

The Victim

The first toxic person to watch out for is the victim. The toxic person who is a victim is often passive-aggressive and always blames others when something goes wrong rather than taking responsibility for their actions.

The Bully

The second type of toxic person is the bully. A bully could be a friend, coworker, or family member who despises uncertainty while having an exaggerated sense of responsibility. Bullies like to control things, especially people in their lives. Some signs that someone is a bully is that they take advantage of you without giving anything in return. They do this by asking people for favors and soliciting free advice. A bully can also yell or be very harsh with you without letting your finish your thought or sentence by interrupting you. They must always have the final word. Bullies love to scrutinize and micromanage every aspect of someone’s life because they live at the expense of other people.

The Gossiper

The third type of toxic person to be wary of is the gossiper. A gossiper loves being the center of attention. They also love to know what everyone is up to and who they are friends with so that they can gossip. Gossipers also live off of drama, and they love nothing better than creating drama so that they can be the center of attention. It can be tiresome to have a gossiper as a friend. That is why they are toxic, plus you never know if they will tell people something that you want to remain a secret or private.

Dealing With Toxic People

It is best to mitigate the toxic people in your life. You can identify the toxic people among your coworkers, friends, and family. You must decide if you want to limit your interaction with a toxic person or completely cut them out of your life. The bottom line is that many toxic people will prevent you from reaching your full potential.

Part 8: Community

Community is vital to your social health and well-being. You can work to spend time in your local community by volunteering, attending a Meetup, going to a local coffee shop or bar or restaurant, or seeing and interacting with people at your gym. More people have started to spend more time alone by staying inside and not getting to know their neighbors and people in their community. Here are six ways to become active in your community.

Neighborhood

When you move into a new neighborhood, you can make a point to get to know your neighbors. If you don’t know your neighbors, get to know the people on your street and neighborhood. The perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors is when you move in, and you can host a housewarming party. Another good way to get to know your neighbors is to drop a letter in their mailboxes and describe your skills and what you bring to the neighborhood. This will make your neighbors see that you are approachable and open to knowing your neighbors.

Support Your Local Businesses

Another way is to support local businesses in your area instead of big-box chain stores as much as possible. Rather than always going to a chain store to buy what you need, start to go to your local grocery stores, clothing, hardware, or any other type of store when you need something. You can also order from smaller businesses that sell things online.

Non-Profits

Supporting non-profits is another way you can be involved in your community. You can donate your time or money to a non-profit or charity you support. You can look up non-profits in your area that need help running fundraisers or volunteers for an event. Giving your time or talents to assist a non-profit is another good way to meet like-minded people in your community.

Volunteer

Volunteering is another way to be involved in your community. You can volunteer for events looking for people to help, organizations, your church, or anything else that may interest you. Volunteering will allow you to meet new people who share similar values as you. This is also an excellent way to get involved and give back to your local community. As a bonus, it has been found that volunteering helps with loneliness!

Be Involved In Your Community

You can start to be actively involved in your community. Another way is that you can be involved in your local community. You can go to local Meetup events. You can meet people at your church. You can meet people at your favorite coffee shop or bar. Another way to be involved in your community is to attend local events. These regional events can range from farmer’s markets and outdoor concerts to something your town or city may celebrate unique to your area each year.

Virtual Community

The final way is to interact with a virtual community on your favorite social media platforms. While the virtual community will never replace the real physical in-person community, it is still an excellent way to network and interact with people online. You can meet people online using apps and social media platforms. You can professionally connect with people on LinkedIn. You can also events in your areas using Facebook and Meetup.

Part 9: Self-Actualization

The previous sections of this article provide a foundation to work towards achieving self-actualization. As you improve yourself daily by focusing on yourself, you will work your way up Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. You will do this by working on yourself, growing your finances and physiological needs, being involved in your community (love and belonging needs), improving your self-esteem and self-confidence by accomplishing your goals, and finally achieving self-actualization as you realize your full potential.

Society wants to prevent you from achieving your full potential. The dangerous combination of the toxic people you will encounter in your life, limiting beliefs you were raised with by living in a fake society, and being told to conform to it will keep you from self-realization. It is up to you to go on the journey towards self-realization.

Achieve Your Full Potential In Life

From the education system to politicians to employers, society doesn’t want you to learn how to focus on yourself. They don’t want you to understand the basics, especially around money and finances, so that you can be kept in the system and never escape the rat race of life. You can escape, but only if you begin to focus on yourself and work towards self-actualization. How you think directly affects your choices. It is up to you to stop being a people pleaser, going along with the crowd, doing as you are told, and going on a journey of self-discovery to discover your purpose in life. To do that, you must focus on yourself.  It is up to you to achieve your full potential in life.

Conclusion

When you change how you view yourself, you must first change your psychology. This means changing your mindset and where you get your validation from in your life. Ultimately, you can do more than you think you can do because society has programmed you since birth, through school, and by respecting institutions, to delegate responsibility to others when you are responsible for your life. It is up to you if you want to remain society’s captive or break free to unleash your full potential to the world. It will be the latter once you choose to embrace focusing on yourself.
